After the immense success of its publication ‘ Al Kitab Al Arabi’ KITAB will be circulating the 2nd edition of this exclusive supplement entitled ‘Background on the Arab Book Industry’ - a commissioned publication focusing on understanding of the local and regional book industry and offering market insight to exhibitors. The publication aims to enhance the opportunities available to the international publishing professionals to network and do business with the Arab publishing sector. Since its launch at the 2010 Frankfurt Book Fair the publication has received overwhelming support and appreciation. Jumaa Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director General of the National Library and the Director of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, said: “With 300 million potential readers in the Middle East and North Africa; this is a market with huge opportunities for the publishing industry. Our aim is to see books coming into our region from all over the world, offering readers, scholars and schoolchildren access to diverse ideas. Facilitating opportunities for professional dialogue through seminars encourages the development of successful collaborations between regional and international publishers. Our objective is to equip the publisher community with the best practices and international benchmarking standards while offering our international publishers intelligence about the potential the Arab publishing market has to offer”. KALIMA as well as the Sheikh Zayed Book Award will also be present at the ADACH stand offering advice and information to the visitors.
