
Twenty-seven militants were killed and dozens injured on Saturday in clashes that erupted between army forces, resistance and Arab coalition warplanes against militias of Houthis and pro-former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, Taiz's military council said on Sunday.
The army forces entered Najd Qasim area and purged the surrounding area from militants, the council's media center said.
Meanwhile, Arab coalition jets shelled militias' positions in Al Misrakh district and other positions in northern Taiz.
In the meantime, two elements of the resistance were killed while nine others were injured in Houthis' indiscriminate shelling of residential neighborhoods. Also, a woman was killed while 17 other civilians were injured in the shelling.
