Afghan police arrest 23 Taliban fighters

Units of Afghan police have arrested nearly two dozen Taliban militants over the past 24 hours across the country, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here on Wednesday. "During the past 24 hours, Afghan National Police backed by army have launched 11 operations in Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Kandahar, Logar, Ghazni, Paktiya, Helmand and Nimroz provinces and detained 23 armed Taliban rebels," the statement added. Taliban militants have yet to make comment.
