RAS AL-KHAIMAH - Arab Today

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras al-Khaimah, has said that education was a top priority for the UAE, since the nation's founding and as emphasised by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who's philosophy continues to be carried forward by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The nation believes in the importance of education in building the personalities of its citizens and instilling in them good ethics and values, as well as a sense of belonging and loyalty to the nation, His Highness added..

He made this observation during a visit this morning to Khat elementary and secondary schools for boys and girls, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Somaya Harib Al Suwaidi, Director of Ras al-Khaimah Education Zone, and other officials.

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr praised the attention being paid to education in the UAE by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, which is reflected in the great strides made by the country in the field of education, in terms of the infrastructure and the technologies being adopted, as well as in the development of the curricula.

The Ras al-Khaimah Ruler visited various classrooms in the schools, and was briefed by teachers on the educational process and the technologies used in classes, as well as the curriculum plan being adopted for the current year by the Ministry of Education. He also spoke with the students about their interests and aspirations.

Al Suwaidi said that the visit of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi was in line with the efforts being made by His Highness to support education in the emirate, and his keenness to visit schools on the first day of each academic year, as well as encourage students, teachers and officials.

"This visit encourages us to double our efforts and express our loyalty to the wise leadership in the UAE, as well as renew our pledges to work with devotion and loyalty, to ensure the educational process in the UAE is a success," Al Suwaidi concluded.
