Paris - Arab Today

Supporters of Egypt's former army chief Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi French media outlets shed light on the launch of the election campaigns of the two presidential candidates Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi and Hamdin Sabahi. The presidential electioneering date will end on May 23, said FRANCE 24, the international news channel in a news report Saturday.
The channel further said that Sisi is widely expected to easily win the elections, which will take place on May 26-27.
After three years full of political unrest and unstable security conditions, Egyptian voters long for a strong leader who is capable of restoring stability in the country, added FRANCE 24.
Sisi's only contender is the leftist Sabahi, who came third in the 2012 elections, it added.
Meanwhile, French daily newspaper Le Parisien said that the electioneering in Egypt kicked off in the wee hours of this morning, a day after Egypt witnessed several terror attacks which targeted a number of policemen in several areas in the country.
The daily further said that Sisi appears poised to win on a wave of nationalistic fervor.
