Abu Dhabi Summer Season
Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

Abu Dhabi will have a thrilling show-packed summer season all over the emirate for all the family featuring 12 events, 63 performances and other promotions under the banner of Abu Dhabi Summer Season.

Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, TCA Abu Dhabi, yesterday unveiled the Abu Dhabi Summer Season programme for 2015, featuring headline theatre shows, a world famous illusionist, live international children's shows, top Arab and European comedy acts, and live concerts will take place across the emirate with events in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and Al Gharbia (Western Region) for almost three months.

The Summer Season will run from June 11 to September 5 with the period covering the school holidays, Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. Promising ‘Fun for All', the season of major events will also involve malls, attractions and hotels to make Abu Dhabi an attractive proposition in which to spend summer.

TCA Abu Dhabi has teamed up with leading UAE event organisers, such as Flash, Alchemy Project, YAK Events and MBC Group, to bring some spectacular events and deliver a memorable three-month season for our stay-at-home residents and visitors, particularly from the GCC, India and Europe.

Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director of Tourism Sector, TCA Abu Dhabi, said at a press conference in Abu Dhabi: "With the support of its partners and stakeholders, Abu Dhabi Summer Season 2014 witnessed great success in providing exceptional experiences to visitors and residents alike. This year we are welcoming additional partners and stakeholders on board who are excited in offering thrilling shows and promotional offers in Abu Dhabi."

The 2014 Summer Season saw 786,376 guest arrivals, an increase of 20 percent during June, July and August with the corresponding period the previous year. Guest nights from the GCC, not including from the UAE, increased by 25 percent , from India by 26 percent and from Europe 19 percent .

"We saw significant interest in last year's Summer Season and hotel occupancy with an additional 2,495 hotel rooms grew by a total of 7 percent from 2013, and obviously we are aiming to improve that figure again this season," added Al Dhaheri.

FLASH Entertainment will be bringing a weekend comedy extravaganza of international and regional comedians to Abu Dhabi city. To help celebrate the first night of Eid Al Fitr, Saudi Arabia's Mohammed Abdo will perform at Yas Island's du Forum, while fans of Emirati singer Habeeb Alyasy will be presenting two of his performances in Al Ain and on Yas Island.

Alchemy Project will be bringing six shows to the emirate for Abu Dhabi Summer Season with a total of 44 performances in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and the Western Region, while, MBC Group will present the much-loved children's character Shaun the Sheep to life with a series of live shows in Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain. All the TV characters will be present in the magical, fully choreographed music and dance extravaganza.

And, as part of the Season, YAK Events will be bringing a ‘Comedy Friday', and Indian singing sensation Shreya Ghosal to Abu Dhabi to entertain their audience.
