Amman - Petra

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said Jordan is keen to forge closer ties with Qatar for the interest of both countries and peoples. During a meeting with Qatari Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Esnour hailed the strong and historical ties between Jordan and the Arab Gulf State and valued Qatar’s proposal to set up the Gulf Development Fund to support Jordan. He said Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE made their contribution to the fund, voicing hope that Qatar will follow soon to enable Jordan to establish developmental projects that will be agreed upon by the two sides. The premier said Jordan is keen to maintain strong ties with all Arab states, pointing to challenges facing the Kingdom as it witnessed waves of refugees. On Syria, Ensour and the Qatari minister stressed the need to end bloodshed and achieve security and stability in the country.
