To further facilitate foreign tourists including Omanis visiting India, a 24x7 toll free multi-lingual tourist helpline has been launched.

The service, available on the toll free number 1800111363 and short code 1363, will be operational 365 days a year.

Available in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish besides English and Hindi, it has been launched by the Government of India.

“The objective of this multi-lingual helpline is to provide information relating to travel and tourism in India to domestic and international tourists, the Indian Embassy in Muscat said.

“The helpline also advises callers during the times of distress, if any, while travelling in India and alerts the concerned authorities, if required. This is a unique endeavour by the Government of India to give the foreign tourists a sense of safety and security during their travel in India,” it said.

The Indian Embassy said it hopes that people of Oman travelling to India will find the new service useful.
