Egypt won the most famous tourist destination award at the World Travel Fair (WTF) that wrapped up its activities in Shanghai city on Sunday.

The award was handed over to Egypt's tourism advisor to China Dr. Abo El Maati Shaarawy .

In statements to MENA correspondent on Monday, Dr. Shaarawy expressed happiness to receive this award during this year's fair.

The three-day exhibition brings together more than 450 exhibitors from all over the world, he said.

He added the exhibition is an opportunity for tourist companies and tour operators in China and neighboring countries to meet and exchange views on different strategies in the tourism industry. 

WTF is a prominent and most influential annual gala for the international tourism industry in China.

WTF brings together destinations, tourist attractions as well as organizations and business in the field of civil aviation cruise, hotel and business travel around the world.

WTF is committed to providing an effective platform that helps global tourism sellers develop China market, plus a one-stop solution to promote sales and gain brand awareness.
