Dubai - WAM

First Gulf Bank (FGB), one of the leading banks in the U.A.E, is the exclusive banking partner with the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group to support its "Dubai City of Gold" campaign this Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2014. During the shopping festival, the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group will be providing customers with a chance to enter draws to win 32Kg of gold and solitaire diamonds over the course of 32 days. Alongside this, FGB will be providing U.A.E. residents with free jewellery and home contents insurance cover of AED 70,000 for a period of six months. The policy will be issued by AIG for interested tenants and home owners in the U.A.E. market. In addition, FGB SME Business will be offering participating merchants pre-qualified Short Term Loans up to AED 1 Million to cater to their requirements during the promotion period. Commenting on the partnership, Girish Advani, Head of Mass Market Segment at FGB, said, "Based on a recent survey, 9 out of 10 people in the U.A.E. risk incurring significant monetary losses due to unexpected events such as fire, theft, water leakage and more and they do not have a Jewellery and Home Contents Insurance. We see this partnership as a great opportunity to support our country's economy whilst raising awareness about the importance of Home insurance to U.A.E. residents. Residents will be allowed to do an optional upgrade coverage of up to AED 300,000 for a nominal fee." Customers can obtain their free insurance and complete their registration online with FGB by visiting the bank's dedicated insurance website. In addition, all the participating jewellery shops in the "Dubai City of Gold" promotion will carry branding and enrolment forms for the promotion and to facilitate the registration processes. Sai Aroor, Head of Small Business Solutions at FGB, said, "We believe this partnership will go a long way in meeting the needs of the "Dubai City of Gold" participating merchants. As a leading player in the SME Industry, we are committed to the growth of the segment in line with the vision of the leadership of the country." First Gulf Bank has become well-recognised in the industry for its innovative solutions and has recently won the "Bank of the Year - United Arab Emirates" award at The Banker Magazine awards ceremony. This award reiterates the bank's commitment to bringing innovative solutions for its customers and business partners.
