Nora Faisal Al-Shaaban, president of Ebda3 Exchange Company, impressed girl students of King Abdulaziz University’s Faculty of Economics and Administration by conducting a workshop on personality development during the Career Day. The workshop focused on developing the self before managing it; Johari Window; practical steps to achieve self confidence; how can someone express his/her thoughts and I explore the treasure inside them; and how can they become creative as well as successful work skills and 10 advices to strengthen a person’s resolve. “You will not find a distinguished person complaining about lack of opportunities. Intelligent persons will try not only to make use of opportunities but also to create opportunities,” Al-Shaaban told the girls. “Try to work with people who challenge your capabilities and don't demand to make things easy for you, rather be prepared to take up any difficult task and enhance your skills and capabilities,” she said. More than 500 girls from the Faculty of Economics and Administration as well as its teaching staff attended the program. The workshop continued for four hours and was distinguished by the active participation of students. “It was an excellent program and was instrumental in motivating us to work hard in order to attain our objectives,” said Isra Al-Jaafari. For Raja Salim the workshop was a symbol for change. Riham Al-Ahmadi said she had learned a lot from the presentation, adding that it corrected many of her wrong perceptions. “It have learned how to enhance my self confidence,” she pointed out. According to Ala Maghrebi, the workshop would help her get rid of negative attitude and work for becoming a powerful leader who can work successfully in different areas. The program included a presentation by Rania Salama, chair person of the committee for young businesswomen at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on how to achieve excellence in profession. The event was supervised by Fatma bint Muhammad Kamal, in charge of employment planning and graduates. Najah bint Hassan Salama, deputy dean of the faculty, presented commemorative gifts to Nora Al-Shaaban and Rania Salama. Dr. Hussam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Anqari, dean of the faculty, has highlighted the importance of the career day and said it would contribute to helping the university's graduates to get suitable jobs. “The career day gains importance in light of the increasing numbers of graduates who pass out from the faculty every year,” the dean said. Al-Anqari said the faculty was offering courses in various specializations required by the job market. “Many private companies are now interested in employing our graduates, especially after the introduction of the new Nitaqat system,” he said. The career day aims at preparing the faculty's students for the job market, said Ayman bin Abdul Qader Kamal, supervisor of the section for employment planning and graduates at the faculty. More than 2,000 students took part in the day which included lectures and workshops conducted by experts. Ziyad bin Bassam Al-Bassam, a member of the board of directors of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave a lecture on professionalism and the importance of youth initiatives.
