Riyadh - Arabstoday

The Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington Mohammed Al-Isa said the extension of the King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP) underscores its success and the benefits it has yielded upon the Saudi youth. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has approved the extension of the scholarship program for its third phase of five years starting from the end of the fiscal year 1435-1436 AH (November 2015). The Saudi diplomat, quoted by local media sources, said the program’s success is reflected in its impact, output and the achievements realized by the male and female scholarship students. He said the program is open to all the Kingdom’s youth, adding that there is a large number of Saudi students abroad in different specialties, including 1,500 physicians, 500 dentists, 400 pharmacists and 400 nursing students. Jalal Al-Obaidi, a scholarship student, who has earned a Yahoo Award on Information Security, said the KASP has allowed him to complete his education and develop technical skills that paved the way for him to earn the Yahoo award. Another scholarship student, Abdulaziz Al-Salama, said the extension of the program for the third term is a chance for every Saudi student to gain greater access to knowledge and international expertise.
