Tunis - Tap

Tunisia-Live, the first Tunisian English-Language information site, has launched, in partnership with Google, a specialised platform on Youtube  "Tunisia Talks" for "an almost direct democracy."This platform's motto is "Pose Your Question... Be the Voice of Your Country," to provide Tunisians with the possibility to interact with politicians by asking them questions via Youtube. In this way, Tunisians have the possibility to ask questions to politicians on the election campaign in a 45-second post. These questions will be submitted to Internet users for appreciation to be commented on and rated. Those who will have the highest votes will be posed to the week's political guest. The concept exists since 2007. It was used in the United States, during Barack Obama's campaign, in England, France and recently in Egypt, said Mr. Zied Mhirsi, co-founder of Tunisia-Live at a news conference, held on Tuesday in Tunis. In remote areas where Internet access is not available, a team of Tunisia-Live will record questions of the inhabitants, he added. To access the Tunisia Talks platform, Internet users could visit the address: www.youtube.com/user/Tunisiatalks , which will remain online even after the October 23 elections. Tunisia-Live is dedicated to English-speaking people living in Tunisia and abroad. It offers a varied content based on 2.0 technology and integrating photos, videos and podcasts.
