Jordanian journalists underlined the importance of the upcoming Kuwait's Arab summit to formulate an "active" Arab stances vis-a-vis regional and international developments, relying on Kuwait's diplomatic weight. The journalists, in separate statements to KUNA on Sunday, said Kuwait's leadership has always been keen on solving conflicts among Arab countries. They hoped the March 25-26 summit reach resolutions that honor aspirations of the Arab people. Director General of the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) Faisal Shbool said the Arab summit coincided with critical Arab developments, hoping the meeting would assure the Arab citizen that the leaders were capable of tackling the economic challenges. The summit, he added, was a good opportunity to address political, economic and security challenges. The summit is also important to reaffirm support for the Palestinian cause, backing endeavors of peace on the basis of the Arab peace initiative to ultimately establish the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Dean of the Jordanian journalists Tareq Momani said timing of the summit was crucial because of the ongoing conflict in Syria and the Israeli systematic aggression on the Palestinian people. He called for what he described "effective and influential" Arab stances to address the crises and economic files. Momani hoped the Arab leaders would have a unified position vis-a-vis pressing matters to ultimately reach full-fledged integration in all fields. Director of the Radio and Television Corporation Ramadhan Rawashdeh the summit would be held while many Arab countries experiencing domestic problems coupled with inter-Arab disputes. Rawashdeh noted that His Highness the Amir of Kuwait "is keen to iron out Arab disputes. "Kuwait is known for its wisdom and always considers wider interests than narrow-minded ones," he added.
