Incumbent head of the Syndicate of Journalists Diaa Rashwan submitted on Wednesday his candidacy papers to fill the top position for a second term.
He told reporters that he decided to run for a second term to finish the accomplishments he began over the past two years.
He added that he updated his colleagues at the board meeting on Tuesday on these accomplishments.
"We have still a big mision and I believe I still have a lot to offer," he said.
He said he will meet with journalists within the coming period to listen to their views and crystallize more ideas for his elections program.
Whether he is the candidate of the government, Rashwan laughed and said "you can ask the government".
